Tipu Sultan’s 224th martyrdom Day will celebrated today

Lahore: “A day’s life of a tiger is better than a lifetime of a jackal”. The 224th martyrdom anniversary of Tipu Sultan, the great mujahid of the subcontinent, will be celebrated today.

Hurriyatist Sultan Fateh Ali known as Tipu Sultan was born in the Indian state of Mysore in the house of Nawab Hyder Ali Khan in 1750. He fought for freedom from the British throughout his life.

After the death of Nawab Hyder Ali Khan in 1782, he assumed the power of Mysore and named the state as Sultanate of Khudadad. Sultan Fateh Ali Tipu died on May 4, 1799.
