RAWALPINDI: Six army soldiers were martyred in a gunbattle with terrorists in North Waziristan District on Thursday, according to a statement released by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The statement said that three terrorists were also killed and two others injured in the fierce exchange of firing.
The martyred soldiers have been identified as Saleem Khan, Naik Javed Iqbal, Sepoy Nazeer Khan, Sepoy Hazrat Bilal, Sepoy Syed Rajab Hussain and Sepoy Bismillah Jan.
ISPR statement added that security forces personnel have launched a search operation in the area to trace more terrorists.
“The martyred soldiers fought valiantly and sacrificed their lives for the motherland,” the statement said. “The security forces are committed to wiping out the menace of terrorism from the country.
