Ibrahim Murad visits Veterinary Research Institute

Caretaker provincial Livestock Minister Ibrahim Hasan Murad visited the Veterinary Research Institute and chaired an important meeting Regarding Procured, Distribution and complete utilization of vaccination.

Secretary Livestock Masood Anwar, Director General Dr. Sajjad Hussain and other related persons were present on this occasion. In the meeting, the provincial minister was briefed on research and development, research wing functions, vaccine production, research projects and research publication.

The provincial minister was told during the briefing that 06 deadly diseases have been controlled in the Veterinary Research Institute. In these diseases Haemorrhagic Septicaemia, Black Quarter, Enterotoxemia, Peste Des Petits Ruminants, New Castle Disease, Caprine pleuropneumonia vaccine included while research is going on FMD and LSD. The Provincial Livestock Minister also inspected the cold chain supply system, checked the temperature of the medicines in the cold room and also reviewed the online system of vaccines.

On this occasion, the Provincial Livestock Minister said that the establishment of research endowment fund of the Veterinary Research Institute is inevitable, however, the process of registration with the Drap Regulation Authority is ongoing. The Provincial Livestock Minister further said that consideration is being given to making the Veterinary Research Institute independent. He directed that every researcher of VRA must submit his research project at the international level once a year. Ibrahim Hasan Murad said that undoubtedly the institute is doing the best work with limited resources, livestock department will play an active role in increasing the capacity building of VRA.
