Chinese and Afghan foreign ministers reached Islamabad for trilateral talks

Islamabad: The fifth tripartite talks between the Foreign Ministers of China, Pakistan and Afghanistan will begin in Islamabad from Saturday.

Chinese Foreign Minister Chen Gang and Afghan Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi have arrived in Islamabad on a visit to Pakistan. This is the first visit to Pakistan after assuming the post of Foreign Minister of China. Foreign Office officials welcomed them.

According to a statement released by the Foreign Office, Chinese Foreign Minister Chen Gang and Afghan Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi will participate in the fifth China-Pakistan-Afghanistan Trilateral Foreign Ministers’ Dialogue on May 6 during their visit to Pakistan.

Apart from this, Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Chen Gang will also co-chair the fourth round of Pakistan-China Strategic Dialogue, both sides will confirm the strategic cooperative partnership. Will lead.

During the visit, both sides will review the political, economic, trade relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan in the fields of peace, security and education. Interim Foreign Minister of Afghanistan will also hold bilateral meetings with the Pakistani leadership.

According to Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Amir Khan Muttaqi will lead a high-level delegation, which will include Minister of Commerce and Industry Nooruddin Azizi and officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Transport and Commerce.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the visit of the Afghan Foreign Minister is part of the political contacts with the Afghan government. As part of these contacts, Pakistan’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Hina Rabbani Khar visited Kabul on November 29. The delegation visited Kabul on February 22.

The statement said that during the visit of the Afghan Foreign Minister, there will be a discussion on bilateral relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan, which includes discussions regarding political, economic, trade, regional projects, peace and stability and education.

This is Amir Khan Muttaqi’s second visit to Pakistan after the establishment of the Taliban government in August 2001. Before that, he visited Pakistan in November 2001.
