The IG has expressed suspicion of Jamaat-ul-Ahrar in the Peshawar Desaster

PESHAWAR: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Moazzam Ansari suspects TTP’s faction Jamaatul Ahrar is involved the deadly Peshawar mosque blast that killed 95 people on Monday.

The death toll from the suicide bombing that rocked the crowded mosque at the Police Lines compound in Peshawar rose to 95, with 221 people wounded.

On Monday at around 1:00 pm, a suicide bomber detonated himself inside the mosque during the Zohr prayers, causing the roof to collapse onto those who were praying at that time.

The IGP stated that 10 to 12 kg of explosives was used in the attack while speaking at a press conference in Peshawar after visiting the mosque that was attacked in the Police Lines.

Ansari stated that we are evaluating CCTV video from the previous 30 days to identify the suicide attacker’s facilitators and committed to bring the perpetrators of the Peshawar mosque blast to justice.
