KARACHI: The election campaign for the by-elections is over. Polling will be held today on the seats of 11 USCs and 15 wards of Karachi.
234 candidates are competing in Karachi. Supplies have been delivered to the polling staff.
By-elections will be held in 3 USCs each of Kurangi, Central and West districts. By-elections will be held in 1-1 UCs of District Kemari and South. Polling will be held in 6-6 wards of District Kemari and East.
Polling will be held in 2 wards of Korangi district and one ward of West district.
Police has also prepared a security plan. 2 thousand 750 personnel will be deployed at 302 polling stations. 476 personnel will be included in the quick response force, around 1 thousand 900 personnel will be present as reserve police.
271 police officers will be posted at Election Commission offices while 6 thousand 707 officers will perform their duties in the city.
