Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique has directed to scrap discretionary powers regarding official residences policy Grade 1 to Senior Management.
Chairing a meeting in Lahore today, he also directed to do allotment strictly on merit.He directed to allocate special separate compartments for women and children passengers in every train.
He also sought recommendations to ensure safety and privacy of women and children travelling alone.
Railways Minister asked to outsource trains cleanliness responsibilities and ensure presence of staff to ensure best possible cleanliness in running trains.
He also asked to discourage overcrowding of passengers in trains. He said that protection of the rights of passengers with advance booking is our priority.
He directed to contact Postal Life Insurance to raise insurance payments for railway passengers.
