Prevention and Control of Non-Communicable Diseases Program, Primary & Secondary Healthcare Department, Government of Punjab conducted Awareness Seminar on Causes of Diabetes and Hypertension in Youth and how to prevent these at University of Lahore (UOL).
Additional Secretary Vertical Programs, Primary & Secondary Healthcare Department Mr. Asim Raza was chief guest of the seminar. While addressing the participants, Additional Secretary said that Pakistan is ranking on no. 3 with 33 million Diabetic cases and this is need of the hour to spread awareness as from 2019 to 2021, Diabetic cases have been increased by 70 percent.
He further said that we must adopt healthy diet and lifestyle to stop the further spread of Diabetes. NCDs Clinics have been established at District and Tehsil level for early detection and management of Diabetes and Hypertension.Rector UOL Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ashtraf thanked NCDs, P&SHD for conducting such a informative seminar on Causes of Diabetes and Hypertension in Youth.
