Flood threat again , Sindh demanded 300 billion from federation

Karachi: In Sindh, the danger of flooding has started again, on which the Irrigation Department has requested 300 billion from the federal government for protective measures.

Sindh Irrigation Department has prepared 61 flood prevention projects which have been sent to PSDP for final approval. The Irrigation Department says that the repair of rivers, lakes and small dams is inevitable.

If immediate repairs and maintenance are not carried out, a major disaster may occur. Irrigation department projects include restoration of LBOD, sea damming project on Thatta coastline, expansion of Kalri lake and repair and maintenance of Kalri Baghar feeder, restoration of natural water channels in district Khairpur, Matiari, Nowshehro Feroze, Tharparkar, This includes the construction of small dams at Thatta, Malir and Jamshoro to collect water from mountains and waterfalls.

The Irrigation Department has sent the plans to the Federation through the Planning and Development Department.
