New Delhi: An anti-Islam film called “The Kerala Story” is going to be released on May 5 before the elections in the Indian state of Karnataka.

The film has come under fire for portraying the Hindutva propaganda “Love Jihad” ideology and distorting facts.

In the trailer, the film claims that 32,000 women were converted and forced to join terrorist organizations such as the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS).

The claim of 32,000 women joining ISIS from Kerala was dismissed as baseless by Indian website Altnews after research.

It is said that fake news is increasing at an alarming rate in India. The mainstream media embraces it, resulting in further division, killings and riots in society.
