Federal Minister for Planning Development and Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal called on Punjab Governor Muhammad Baligh ur Rehman at Governor House in Lahore today.
Promotion of higher education discussed during the meeting.
On this occasion, the Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal informed Punjab Governor about the projects initiated by the Federal Government for the improvement of education, especially the universities.
He said Special measures are being taken to promote skill based education.
Speaking on the occasion, the Punjab Governor Muhammad Baligh ur Rehman said Promotion of knowledge based economy is very important for the development of the country. He said as a Chancellor his top priority is to strengthen the linkages between academia and research in universities.
He said consortia have been formed on 07 important sectors in this regard. He said promotion of science and information technology education included in this consortia.
