Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique says that Pakistan Railways has received the first batch of 46 out of 230 high-speed modern completely built unit coaches from China.
Addressing a press conference in Lahore today, he said that after receiving these coaches, Pakistan Railways will begin manufacturing 184 similar coaches at its carriage factory in Islamabad.
He said that we have got technology from China which is a great achievement and remaining coches will be manafactured in Pakistan.
He thanked Chinese officials on agreeing to restart working on Main Line ML-1. He said that we are taking measures to improve Railways and Aviation.He regretted that previous government didn’t take measures for improvement and capacity building in Pakistan Railways.
He said that not a single locomotive was added in Pakistan Railways previous tenure.Replying a question, Federal Ministersaid that we have saved the country from default situation.
He said assemblies are meant for legislation not for dissolution.
