Political Assistant of CM Punjab on Human Rights Robinson Aziz Francis visited department of communication studies in Punjab University, where he met with Abida Ashraf, professor Human Rights chair at institute of communication studies Punjab University. Detail discussion held to explore way forward to strengthen Human Rights Chair at Punjab University and to further upgrading it into Human Rights Excellence centre / Research centre for promotion of Human Rights subject at leading universities of Punjab to create formal research and Think tank for Punjab in future. On this occasion Robinson Aziz Francis said that through Human Rights chair would create awareness about human rights in the society as there was need to sensitive people on protecting each others’ rights and it was hoped the chair would play its role to bring change in the mindset of the people and will work against human rights abuses in Pakistan. Professor Abida said that purpose of chair was ensure equal rights must be given to every human being without discrimination. She urged that international powers should play their role to ensure provision of human rights across the board. Robinson Aziz hoped that the students of communication studies to play their role in creating awareness regarding human rights and become a role model for others through becoming law-abiding citizens. Deputy director of Human rights Muhammad Yusuf and other relevant persons were also present on the occasion.
