Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb says planting trees is the Sunnah of the Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (S.A.W.W.)and by planting one tree, we will revive the sunnah of the Holy Prophet’s (S.A.W.W.)

In a message on International Day of Forests, she said that on the directive of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, 18 million trees will be planted on 60 thousand sites during the spring season in Punjab. 

She stressed that students of schools, seminaries, and people of political parties should actively participate in the tree plantation campaign. 

She urges people to participate in this campaign for combating smog, air pollution, and cleansing the air of toxic substances.

She said that as per the vision of Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz, the Forest department and Punjab Horticulture Authority have set up stalls across the province for the convenience of the public. She urged people to get free plants from the stalls and plant them. She said that the Forest Department is providing plants to the armed forces, hospitals, educational institutions, and other organizations from 216 nurseries.

She informed that a plantation of 35,000 plants will be held today in Jalu Forest Park Lahore today. 

She said that on the directive of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the ‘Plant for Pakistan’ app has been launched for the first time, and tree planting is also being promoted through QR codes. 

The Senior Minister stressed that along with tree planting, there will also be a focus on the survival and sustainability of the planted trees.
