MINISTER PLEDGES REFORMS IN DATA DARBAR HOSPITAL

Caretaker Minister for Auqaf and Religious Affairs, Zakat and Usher Punjab Barrister Syed Azfer Ali Nasir while directing the introduction of reforms in Data Darbar Hospital, Bilalganj has expressed his determination that the existing 120 beds capacity of the hospital will be increased. On the occasion of his visit to Data Darbar Hospital run by Auqaf Department, he said that every minister of the caretaker cabinet is in the field on the orders of caretaker chief minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi. “No effort will be spared to ensure the provision of maximum facilities to the public”, he pledged. Secretary Auqaf and Religious Affairs Punjab Dr. Syed Tahir Raza Bukhari was also present on this occasion. Medical Superintendent Dr. Abdul Hameed gave a briefing on the affairs of Data Darbar Hospital. The provincial minister inspected all the departments of the hospital and also spoke to the patients. Barrister Syed Azfar Ali Nasir said that the facility of 120 beds in Data Darbar Hospital was provided 12 years ago. “Increasing capacity and reforming the hospital is the need of the hour in line with population growth”, he said. He directed the MS Hospital to submit a written report in this regard within a week. The Provincial Minister took notice of the vacant posts of Homeopathic Doctor and Unani Practitioner in Data Darbar Hospital and directed the Auqaf Secretary to start the recruitment process on urgent basis.

He said that if there is a government ban on recruitment, then this process should be completed through the Punjab Public Service Commission. “Take special care of the cleanliness in the hospital. Transparency should be brought in the free treatment of deserving patients so that funds can be used on merit”, directed the minister.

Barrister Syed Azfar Ali Nasir, took notice of the inadequate lighting system in some parts of the hospital and directed that the lighting conditions in the hospital should be improved even during the day hours moreover permanent boards should be displayed instead of temporary boards on paper to guide the patients. The Caretaker Auqaf and Religious Affairs Minister warned that action will be taken if immediate action is not taken on the patients’ complaints.

Expressing satisfaction over the performance of the eye and dental units of the hospital, he appreciated MS. On this occasion, Secretary Auqaf and Religious Affairs Punjab, Dr. Syed Tahir Raza Bukhari directed that MS Hospital to take written report from the in-charges of all departments. “Do not limit yourself to official correspondence only instead take practical action on the orders of the provincial minister”, he directed.
