Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif says Islam is the religion of peace, and Muslims believe in peace.
In a message for the International Day to Combat Islamophobia, the Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif said that she strongly condemned Islamophobia as it leads to unjust and discriminatory treatment of Muslims.
She said that the oppression on innocent Muslims in Palestine and IIOJK is the result of Islamophobia.She said that Islam is the religion that has laid down fundamental human rights.
To combat Islamophobia, she emphasized the necessity of presenting the positive face of the Islamic world. She said that Muslim countries should strive to end their internal discord and become a symbol of unity.
She said that individual and collective actions based on Islamic values can play a crucial role in defeating Islamophobia.She said that on the International Day to Combat Islamophobia, we pledge not to let go of patience, tolerance and good morals.
The Chief Minister said that the United Nations, OIC, and other international organizations need to make further efforts to eradicate Islamophobia.
