Imran says ready for talks with Pakistan Army chief

LAHORE – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf Chairman Imran Khan said he was ready to hold talks with Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen Asim Munir for the sake of the country.

Talking to journalist at his Zaman Park residence in Lahore, the former premier said it seemed the army chief was considering him as hi enemy. He said he had no differences with the establishment but vowed not to lose the ground.He also dared the government to prove a corruption case against himself and his wife Bushra bibi, adding that he would continue his struggle against PDM.Talking about a change in his plane to travel to Islamabad for court appearance, the PTI chief said he wanted to go to there by air but he used motorway after receiving information that a plan had been made to arrest and take to Balochistan.

He lauded former chief minister Parvez Elahi for standing firmly with him despite pressure for changing loyalty. He reiterated that he has recorded a video about life threats and has been kept abroad.He also lashed out at the former COAS retired Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa for allegedly deceiving him. He demanded court martial of the former army chief over an anti-Russian speech.Imran Khan urged the government to hold general elections across the country as it would save the national exchequer. He hoped that the PTI would clean sweep in the upcoming elections.
