Delegation of the Christian community meets caretaker Prime Minister Anwarul Haque Kakar

Caretaker Prime Minister of Pakistan Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar met the leaders of the Christian community under the leadership of former provincial minister for human rights and minority affairs Ijaz Alam Augustine.

In the meeting, Ijaz Alam Augustine thanked the PM on the behalf of entire Christian community for the timely action and personal visit on the Jaranwala tragedy.

On this occasion, Prime Minister of Pakistan Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar said that all the state machinery stands with them regarding the rights and protection of religious minorities. There is no doubt that the religious minorities in Pakistan have all the basic rights. Those responsible for the Jaranwala incident will be made an example so that such incidents can be stopped.

He further said that the religious minority community should convey their problems and suggestions to the government so that these problems can be solved.

Ijaz Alam Augustine said that all sections have to play their role to end the growing extremism in the country so that Pakistan can become a cradle of peace and the positive side of Pakistan can be highlighted around the world.

The Christian delegation included Khalil George, former member of National Assembly Asia Ansar, Bishop Andreas, Bishop Samuel Azrayah, Bishop Joseph Irshad, Bishop Humphrey Peters, Pastor Hanuk Hashmat, Pastor Oliver Zia.
