Around 846 Sikh pilgrims from India arrived in Lahore via the Wagah border to participate in the Jor Mela

Around 846 Sikh pilgrims from India, led by party leader Sardar Gurbachan Singh, have arrived in Pakistan via the Wagah border to participate in the Jor Mela celebrations on the martyrdom day of the fifth Sikh Guru, Guru Arjan Dev Ji.

Punjab Minister and Chairman of the Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee, Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora, along with Additional Secretary Shrines Saifullah Khokhar, welcomed the guests and presented them with bouquets.

Later, while speaking to the media, Punjab Minister Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora said that the Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) has made excellent arrangements for the hospitality of pilgrims arriving from India and around the world. They have ensured that the pilgrims are provided with accommodation, security, medical care, travel, and all other necessary administrative facilities.

He said that special arrangements have been made for the security, transport, and medical needs of the pilgrims.

Additional Secretary Shrines Saifullah Khokhar informed that the pilgrims have been sent to Gurdwara Panja Sahib in Hassan Abdal under strict security in VIP buses, where they will perform their religious rituals.

According to the schedule, after spending a day at Gurdwara Panja Sahib in Hassan Abdal, the pilgrims will travel to Nankana Sahib on Monday, June 10th, where they will stay at Gurdwara Janam Asthan.

During their stay, sikh pilgrims will visit Gurdwara Sacha Sauda in Farooqabad on Tuesday, June 11th, and then return to Janam Asthan Nankana Sahib.

On Wednesday, June 12th, the pilgrims will travel from Nankana Sahib to Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib in Narowal, where they will stay for a day. On Friday, June 14th, the Sikh pilgrims will visit Gurdwara Rohri Sahib in Eminabad and then proceed to Lahore.

The main ceremony of Guru Arjan Dev Ji’s martyrdom anniversary will be held on June 16th at Gurdwara Dera Sahib in Lahore.

The Indian Sikh pilgrims will depart for India after completing their visit on June 17th.
