The Provincial Election Commissioner Punjab Aijaz Anwer Chohan has issued special instructions to the presiding officers, not to prevent observers and media with Election Commission accreditation cards from entering the polling stations.
In a statement today he said that all observers and media with Election Commission accreditation cards or permits are allowed inside the polling stations.
He said the accreditation cards are issued by Election Commission Spokespersons and District Returning Officers across Punjab.
Meanwhile, the Spokesperson for the Provincial Election Commissioner Punjab has refuted the media reports that the polling process could not be started in PP 117 constituency in Faisalabad.
In a statement the spokesperson said that the concerned District Returning Officer and Returning Officer confirmed the commencement of the polling process.
