10 years of CPEC completed, preparations for grand celebration


ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Measures Prof. Ahsan Iqbal has directed all ministries and divisions to finalize the proposals for development projects for the upcoming joint coordination committee meeting to be held in July 2023.

The federal minister gave these instructions while presiding over the meeting to review the progress on CPEC projects.

Representatives of various ministries and divisions, officials of the Pakistani Embassy in China, officials of the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan and other stakeholders also participated in the meeting.

In the meeting, the Federal Minister was informed about the progress of CPEC projects. It should be noted that the CPEC agreement between Pakistan and China was signed on July 5, 2013 during the tenure of Muslim League (N) and ten years will be completed in July this year. Also directed to finalize the proposals in which CPEC 10 year celebrations will also be celebrated.

The federal minister said that in this regard, the Chinese officials will also be invited to Pakistan. The federal minister also directed the relevant ministry to speed up the work on Special Economic Zones so that the sugar industry in Pakistan with low cost production. A share of the transfer can be obtained.

Federal Minister for Planning and Development Professor Ahsan Iqbal has said that ensuring parallel distribution of resources in the country is a priority. He expressed these views on Wednesday in a meeting on development projects in backward districts presided over by him.
