Kashmir’s statehood should be restored: demand of Indian Kashmiri leaders

He indicated to do so and said that the statehood of Kashmir will be restored after the state elections.

Farooq Abdullah announced a boycott of the elections if the statehood of Kashmir is not restored.

On January 1, 2023, Mehbooba Mufti requested the Indian Chief Justice in a letter to provide justice to Kashmiris. On February 16, 2023, Congress leader Waqar Rasool Wani gave an ultimatum to the Modi government to restore the statehood of Kashmir as soon as possible.
