Washington: An Indian-American businessman has been elected as the 14th president of the World Bank.

According to the announcement of the World Bank, Indian-American businessman Ajay Pal Singh Banga was nominated by US President Biden.

According to reports, the 25-member executive board of the World Bank approved the new president.

63-year-old Ajaypal Singh Banga will take over as the president of the World Bank for a five-year term on June 2. The current president of the World Bank, David Malpass, is stepping down soon.
