Tourism Lahore Bus Service, under the auspices of Iqbal Academy Pakistan, arranged a special tour for the delegates attending the International Iqbal Conference 2024.
The purpose of this tour was to promote Pakistan’s cultural heritage globally and enhance the country’s positive image.
The tour was organized under the leadership of Ashfaq Dogar, incharge of the Double Decker Bus, following the directives of Secretary Tourism, Fareed Ahmad Tarrar. The aim was to highlight Iqbal’s message and philosophy on an international platform.
The delegates were introduced to Lahore’s historical and cultural significance through this memorable journey. Dr. Saad, President of the Economic Cooperation Organization, GM TDCP Wahid Arjamand Zia and Ashfaq Ahmed Dogar, Director of Sightseeing Lahore Bus were also present on the occasion.
Secretary Tourism, Fareed Ahmad Tarrar while expressing his thoughts said that this tour has been specifically arranged to introduce Iqbal’s philosophy and message to the world, so that delegates from across the globe can learn about our culture and Iqbal’s great ideas.”
He further added, “We extend an invitation to Iqbal’s admirers, especially from Spain, Bangladesh, the UK, Egypt, Tajikistan, Turkey, Iran, and various parts of Pakistan, to visit Lahore, explore the historic sites of Allama Iqbal, and see how we have preserved his memories.”
During the tour, the delegates visited the Badshahi Mosque and paid their respects at Allama Iqbal’s mausoleum, where they honored his services and philosophy. The participants regarded this initiative as a significant step towards strengthening Pakistan’s tourism sector and promoting the country’s positive image globally.
