World Cup: South Africa and Bangladesh wins

Dharamsala, New Delhi: Bangladesh defeated Afghanistan and South Africa defeated Sri Lanka in the ongoing ICC World Cup in India.

Bangladesh defeated Afghanistan by 6 wickets in the first match of the World Cup on Saturday, while South Africa defeated Sri Lanka by 102 runs. In the first match, Bangladesh won the toss and decided to field and the Afghanistan team was dismissed for 156 runs while batting first. Kar was outstanding while Shakib Al Hasan and Mehdi Hasan took 3 and 3 wickets for Bangladesh. Bangladesh team achieved the target of 157 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in 34.4 overs.

In the second match of the World Cup, South Africa won by 102 runs against Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka won the toss and invited South Africa to play.

South Africa scored 428 runs for the loss of 5 wickets thanks to the centuries of Quinton de Kock, van der Dusen and Markram and scored the highest score of the World Cup. Cook 100 Dawson 108 and Markram played an innings of 106 runs. Madhushanka of Sri Lanka took 2 wickets. In reply, the Sri Lankan team could only score 326 runs in 45.5 overs. Kaushal Mendis played an innings of 76, Asalanka 79 and Dusan Shanka 68 runs.
