Paris: French club Paris Saint-Germain suspended star footballer Lionel Messi for two weeks for celebrating holidays in Saudi Arabia.
In 2021, Argentina’s famous football star Lionel Messi signed a two-year contract with Qatari-owned French club Paris Saint-Germain after parting ways with Spanish football club Barcelona.
Lionel Messi, who won the World Cup for Argentina in Qatar last year, is currently in Saudi Arabia to celebrate holidays with his family.
Messi has also been fined by the club for his role as a tourism ambassador in Saudi Arabia.
Messi scored 31 goals and provided 34 assists in 71 appearances for PSG, whose two-year contract with the French club expires this year.
