Hangzhou: In the ongoing 19th Asian Games in China, Pakistan won the fifth position in the men’s volleyball competition by defeating the traditional rival India 3-0. The scores of Pakistan’s win against India were 21-25, 20-25 and 23-25, with Murad Jahan and Murad Khan of the winning team performing brilliantly. It should be noted that Pakistan has made it to the top 5 for the first time since 1990.

In the tennis discipline of the Asian Games, Pakistan is out of the medal race. In the mixed doubles event, India beat Pakistan 2-0. Pakistani players could not even win a game. The Indian team consisting of Ankit Ravindrakshan Rana and Yuki Bhabri defeated Pakistan’s Aqeel Khan and Sara Ibrahim Khan by an identical score of 6-0.
Thailand defeated Pakistan 2-0 in the second round of the mixed doubles event of the Asian Games. The Pakistani team consisting of Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi and Oceana Sohail fought hard in the first set but managed to win a game in the second round. The winning score of the Thai pair was 6-4 and 6-1.
In the men’s doubles event of the Asian Games, the team consisting of Aqeel Khan and Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi was defeated by the Chinese Taipei pair 7-6, 6-4 in a tough match. In women’s doubles, Sara Ibrahim Khan and Oceana Sohail were defeated by the Indonesian pair. In the second round of the mixed doubles event, Thailand defeated Pakistan 2-0. The Pakistani team consisting of Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi and Oceana Sohail fought hard in the first set but managed to win a game in the second round. The winning score of the Thai pair was 6-4 and 6-1.
