Karachi: It has been 2 years since Umar Sharif, the uncrowned king of comedy, was separated from his fans, but he is still alive in the hearts of his fans.

Umar Sharif had made a place in people’s hearts in a short time with his comic poetry and acting.

Omar Sharif died at the age of 66 on the afternoon of October 2, 2021, during treatment in Germany. He rose to fame when comedians Moin Akhtar, Ismail Tara and Majid Jahangir were very popular.

Umar Sharif captured the attention of Karachi audiences with his comedy and began his career journey that spanned 40 years. With the passage of time, he gained popularity across the country with his jokes and dialogues. He had worked in more than 50 stage plays, while ‘Bakra Qasto’ got him international fame.

Omar Sharif’s popular stage plays include ‘Meri Bhi To Eid Karade’, ‘Yeh Hai Naya Tamasha’, ‘Yeh Hai Naya Zamana’ and ‘Badha Ghar Par Hai’. He also acted in films like ‘Hasab’, ‘Kandan’, ‘Mr 420’, ‘Khandan’ and ‘Lot Sahib’, in which ‘Mr 420’ became quite popular. When the era of electronic media came, he did various plays and hosted talk shows, he also hosted ‘The Sharif Show’ on the private channel Geo TV. He has also been a part of TV shows like ‘Fifty Fifty’, ‘Pirda Nah Uthao’. He was also honored with many awards.
