Punjab Home Secretary Noor-ul-Amin Mengal visited the central control room established in the Home Department in Lahore today to review the security arrangements for the Chehlum of Imam Hussain and the Urs of Ali bin Usman Al-Hajveri alias Hazrat Data Ganj Baksh RA.
He reviewed the law and order situation across the province from the central control room.
Special Secretary of the Home Department, Fazal Rahman, and Additional Secretary Usman Khalid briefed him on the reports received from across the province.
The Punjab Home Secretary was informed that the control room is monitoring 286 processions and 400 gatherings throughout the province.
He was also informed that live feeds from cameras installed across the province are connected to the central control room of the Home Department, where representatives from all sensitive institutions are on duty.
The Punjab Home Secretary directed that representatives of law enforcement agencies should remain on duty until all pilgrims and mourners have returned safely.
