Prakash Day” to be celebrated in a grand manners: Arora

A meeting of Pakistan Sikh Gurudwara Perbandhak Committee was held under the chairmanship of Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora at the Evacuee Trust Property Board Head Office .Chairman Board Syed Atta-ul-Rehman participated through video link.

Additional Secretary Shrines Saifullah Khokhar briefed the meeting. Deputy Pradhan Sardar Mahesh Singh, PSGPC members Dr. Sardar Mampal Singh, Stowant Kaur, Sardar Tara Singh, Sardar Stowant Singh along with Deputy Secretary Shrines Abdullah Owais, Security Officer Asim Chaudhry and others participated.


Chairman ETP Board Syed Atta Rahman said that all possible measures will be taken to facilitate Sikh pilgrims, renovation of Gurudwaras and promotion of religious tourism.

In the meeting, the chairman board approved the arrangements expenses in Gurudwaras, increasing the number of sevadars, granthis, including other expenses. The agenda of making PSGPC secretariat and appointing staff was discussed while the arrangements regarding the 555th birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak Dev ji were reviewed in the meeting.


Pradhan Pakistan Sikh Guru Dwara Bandh Committee and Provincial Minister Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora said that this time Baba Guru Nanak’s birth day “Prakash Day” will be celebrated in a grand manners. Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora expressed his full confidence in the Chairman ETPB and Shrines Branch and the administration, he said that every effort will be made for the pilgrims by the ETPB. Satisfactory arrangements are being made this time. This time pilgrims, will return from Pakistan with good memories.


Additional Secretary Shrines Saifullah Khokhar while giving a briefing & said that 4000 pilgrims are expected to arrive on birthday of Baba Gurunanak Dev G. Automatic software has been installed for pilgrim’s visa facility to facilitate the acquisition of visas for pilgrims from abroad. Special arrangements are being made for transport along with all other facilities for pilgrims.

He said that new model buses will be provided while an additional bus will also accompany with the convoy. 100 security guards of the ETP Board are being given special training to perform security duties during the Birthday celebration.
Sikh pilgrims from the neighboring country will reach Pakistan through Wagah check post on Thursday, November 14. The main celebration of Baba Guru Nanak Devji’s birthday will be held on November 15 at Guru Dwara Janam Asthan Nankana Sahib.
