The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) is gearing up to celebrate its foundation day, with preparations underway in every district. Syed Hassan Murtaza, General Secretary of the PPP’s Central Punjab chapter, announced at a press conference that the party is working together to make the event a success.
He also announced that PPP is also planning to organis a power show in Punjab in March 2025. He appreciatedthe role of the PSF in mobilizing the youth in the province. Murtaza criticized the PTI’s legacy, stating that they have no ideology or narrative and are only driven by a desire for power.
Murtaza praised the 26th constitutional amendment, introduced by Bilawal Bhutto, for fostering a consensus-based environment. He said that the future belongs to Bilawal Bhutto and that only the PPP can rescue the country from its current crises.
The foundation day celebrations will feature a virtual address by the party chairman at 6 PM. The event will be held at Pani Wala Talab in LahIn a significant development, the PPP welcomed Amanullah Sindhu, former president of the District Bar Association, Hafizabad, and former president of the district PTI, into the party. Sindhu cited the PTI’s lack of value for its workers as the reason for his switch.
Hassan Murtaza said PPP has been undergoing character assassination for three decades, but people are now joining the party.
While answering a question Murtaza said
We need to strengthen institutions, not individuals. He said PPP is not in favour of banning the PTI nor any body contacted us in this regard.
He further said when somebody will contact us we will take the decision.
He said targeting law enforcement agencies on an agenda-driven basis is condemnable.
What happened in Islamabad was wrong, but it was necessary to save the nation from turmoil.
He also said God and the political leadership have saved the country from crises. The Pakistan Stock Exchange has seen a historic improvement.
Despite Zia’s martial law and police brutality, we did not target any state institution.
While condemning the PTI leadership Murtaza said chief minister KP instead of addressing the suffering of the innocent in Khyber Agency and Parachinar, resorts to attacking Islamabad along with a house wife to free prisoners.
He said government should take the initiative to bring people from the PTI into the national mainstream.
