Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan says political stability is crucial for the country’s economic development.
He stated this during a meeting with a delegation of the UK-Pakistan Trade and Investment Board (UPTIB), led by Chief Executive Officer Tajammul Hussain at the Governor’s House in Lahore today.
He said that economic indicators have started showing improvement in the country’s economy.
The delegation included Managing Director Azhar Warraich, Head of Partnerships and Corporate Linkages Nauman Rasool, and Ghubta Gohar.
During the meeting, the delegation briefed the Punjab Governor on UPTIB’s efforts to promote Pakistan’s international trade and its upcoming projects.
The delegation informed the Governor about the establishment of a Pakistan Pavilion at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, in 2025.
The Punjab Governor appreciated UPTIB’s role in portraying a positive image of Pakistan on the global stage. He praised the UPTIB’s efforts in promoting trade between the UK and Pakistan and attracting international investment in key sectors of Pakistan.
Sardar Saleem Haider Khan assured the delegation of his full cooperation in enhancing Pakistan’s positive image and promoting global investment.
On this occasion, CEO UPTIB Tajammul Hussain shared that UPTIB is taking various steps to represent Pakistan at international forums like the World Economic Forum, in order to create new economic opportunities for the country.
He highlighted the vast opportunities to export Pakistani textile products, along with rice and other food items, to the UK.
