The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to conduct fitness tests on four national team players ahead of the second Test match against England starting October 15 in Multan.
According to sources, Kamran Gholam, Zahid Mahmood, Imamul Haq and Noman Ali have been called to Multan for their physical fitness assessment which is scheduled to take place today.Before the series began, Nauman and Zahid were dropped from the squad for the first Test as they did not meet the required fitness standards.Additionally, sources revealed that Abrar Ahmad Spinner, who was ruled out of the second test, is still undergoing treatment at the hospital.It is worth mentioning that England defeated Pakistan by an innings and 47 runs in the first Test in Multan. Pakistan, who started at 152 for 6, were aiming for 220 with Salman Ali Agha (63) the top scorer. Jack Leach took four wickets for England and Aamir Jamal remained unbeaten with 55 wickets.The second Test will be crucial for Pakistan as they look to bounce back from the defeat in the first Test, which saw England take a 1-0 lead in the series.
