Lahore, Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Peshawar: There was heavy rain in many cities of the country including Lahore. There was destruction in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa including Bannu and Lakki Marwat, 15 people died and 142 were injured in various accidents.

17 people were injured in various incidents due to wind and rain in various cities of Punjab including Lahore. In the provincial capital, Lahore, there was intense heat throughout the day.

Strong winds and heavy rains started earlier in the evening, making the weather pleasant. In various parts of the region including Gujranwala, 100 GAPCO feeders were tripped due to the ongoing rain and strong winds, which plunged most of the regions into darkness.

Gujranwala, Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin, Malkwal, Kharian, Dinga Hafizabad, Pindi Bhattian, Jalalpur Bhattian, Sukhiki, Jalalpur Jattan, Sialkot, Wazirabad have been affected due to tripping of feeders.

Due to the wind, the shed of the steel factory fell on the workers on Aymanabad road, due to which 3 workers were injured, while 7 people were injured in the incidents of wind and rain roof collapse in Dhale and Gondanwala, Dhale scrap warehouse. Three people were injured when the roof of the house collapsed while four people were injured when the roof of the house collapsed in Gondanwala village.

15 people died and 142 were injured in accidents due to storms and rains in different areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

In Bannu district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, storm and rain caused severe destruction, in which 12 people were killed. 116 people, including children and women, were injured, while the authorities have expressed fear of further increase in casualties.

According to the authorities, the deaths occurred due to falling walls, roofs and trees. In view of the situation, emergency has been imposed in all hospitals. The number of dead and injured is high among children.

Due to heavy rain and flooding in the rivers, the streets and roads are looking like ponds while the electricity has been disconnected.

Four people, including three children and a woman, died in the incidents of walls collapsing due to torrential rains in Lucky Marwat, while 26 injured have been shifted to Tehsil Hospital.

Due to heavy rain, the rivers and canals have flooded in Mingora city and surrounding areas of Swat, while some areas have also experienced hailstorm.
