The Spokesperson of Governor House refuted news on aired on private TV channel.
The Spokesperson clarified that Punjab Governor Muhammad Baligh ur Rehman always pays the food expenses of himself, his family and personal guests from his own pocket and the expenses were paid by cheque.
He informed that the Punjab Governor waived his privilege himself and pays expenses.
He said that expenses mentioned in the tenders of the Governor House are not for the Governor himself, but for the tea and refreshments of the guests who come to the large number of public events, domestic and foreign delegates, ambassadors and meetings at the Governor House.
He said that apart of this many delegates also stay in Governor House and their food and hospitality is also the responsibility of Governor House and all of their expenses done under the supervision of Military Secretary and responsible officers.
He said that the tenders have been issued in accordance with the PEPRA rules to promote the process of transparency in the Governor’s House.
