All monitoring stations will be activated before the smog season. Dr. Naeem RaufLahore, August 10:Secretary Environment Protection Department Dr. Naeem Rauf visited the air quality monitoring station established at the headquarters of the Meteorological Department and made a detailed examination of the air quality testing equipment. Director Meteorological Department Chaudhary Aslam while giving a detailed briefing to the Secretary EPD said that it was desire of Met office to release Air Quality Index jointly with the Environment Department in future so that the public can be enlightened about the facts about smog etc. Speaking on this occasion, Secretary Environment Protection said that all the stations will be upgraded before the smog season. Secretary Environment Protection directed Deputy Director Environment Noor Ahmed to activate all air quality stations in Lahore within 15 days and ensure all reforms before the smog season. He clarified that he will visit all air quality monitoring stations in Lahore.Director Environment Protection Naseemur Rehman, Assistant Director Sajid Bashir and representatives of Meteorological Department were also present on the occasion.
