Punjab Governor House is open for guided tours for general public: Baligh ur Rehman

Punjab Governor Muhammad Baligh ur Rehman has announced that the Punjab Governor House is now open for guided tours for the general public, from today.

Talking to newsmen in Lahore today in connection with International Tourism Day, he said that the Punjab cabinet inaugurated this initiative by visiting various historical sites within the Punjab Governor House, including Bhudha Bowl and Qasim Khan’s tomb.

He said that following this visit by the Punjab Cabinet, the Governor House will remain open for guided tours. He also said that pre-booking facilities for these tours will be available to the general public through the Punjab Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) and the Walled City Authority. He said that the first stop of the sightseeing bus will be the Governor House.

He said that the Governor House is a historical building with numerous masterpieces by renowned artist Abdul Rehman Chughtai and an art gallery dedicated to Ustad Allah Baksh. He said founding father Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and other dignitaries including Queen Victoria have also stayed at he Punjab Governor House.

Muhammad Baligh ur Rehman commended the efforts of the Walled City and Punjab Tour Development Corporation for organizing the guided tour for the Punjab Cabinet.

Furthermore, he said that the government is taking comprehensive measures to promote tourism in the country.

In his remarks on the occasion, Caretaker Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi said all credit goes to Punjab Governor for the pre-guided tour project’s success.
