Karachi: Mayor Karachi Murtaza Wahab’s problems could not be reduced in the by-elections.

Jamaat-e-Islami and Tehreek-e-Insaf have challenged the nomination papers of Mayor Karachi Murtaza Wahab in the Election Tribunal.

It has been stated in the petition that Murtaza Wahab is neither a voter nor a resident of Maripur UC-3.

The application said that the approval of the nomination papers of Murtaza Wahab by the returning officer is illegal. According to the Sindh Local Government Act 2013, the candidate must be a registered voter in the ward or council. He informed the returning officer of his objection, but the returning officer The Election Tribunal should nullify the illegal action of the returning officer.

In the petition, a stand was taken that the nomination papers of Murtaza Wahab should be rejected.

In addition, the Sindh High Court has given time to the Advocate General to submit a response to the request of 9 town chairmen including Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi Ameer Hafiz Naeemur Rahman against the appointment of transit officers in the local bodies of Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi and the elected representatives. The hearing was adjourned till November 1. On the occasion of the hearing on Friday, the Sindh government sought time to submit the answer, on which the court granted the time to submit the answer till November 1. The representatives have been disabled, the elections were delayed, the USC elections were completed in April, the city council and the houses of the towns were completed in June, but the powers are not being transferred.
