Islamabad: Inflation rate in the country was recorded at 0.21% on weekly basis during the last week.

According to the report released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics on the Price Sensitive Index (SII), in the week ending June 8, the prices of 10 essential items of daily use in the country decreased and the prices of 20 remained stable, on the contrary, 21 An increase in prices of essential commodities was recorded.

According to the statistics, during the last week the price of banana increased by 7.62%, LPG by 6.60%, eggs by 3.41%, lentils by 2.25%, lentils by 2.22%, mustard seeds by 2.16%, flour by 2.02%, 5 liter cooking oil by 0.81%, dal by 0.65%. percent and a decrease of 0.33 percent was recorded in the price of one kg of banaspati ghee.

On the contrary, the price of tomato increased by 29.15%, onion by 20.85%, chicken by 7.01%, potato by 1.74%, prepared tea by 1.38%, rice by 1.26%, garlic by 1.02%, and georgette by 1.29%.

An increase of 0.30% was recorded in the price sensitive index for the group having the lowest monthly income of Rs 17732, from Rs 17733 to Rs 22888, from Rs 22889 to Rs 29517, from Rs 29518 to Rs 44175 and above. The sensitive index recorded an increase of 0.31%, 0.27%, 0.25% and 0.16% respectively.

The Consumer Price Sensitive Index is determined on the basis of changes in the prices of 51 essential commodities in 50 markets of 17 major cities of the country.
