ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday dismisses relief plea of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on medical grounds, granted exemption from appearing in court for today but ordered him to appear tomorrow. Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court, Aamir Farooq and Justice Mian Gul Hasan Aurangzeb, have warned that if Imran Khan fails to show up in court tomorrow, his interim bail will be cancelled.”

The development came just hours after the IHC warned that Imran Khan’s interim bail would be cancelled if he failed to appear before the court in a case related to inciting institutions to revolt during working hours.

The petition seeking interim bail in the Mohsin Shahnawaz Ranjha attack case was heard by IHC Chief Justice Aamer Farooq. During the hearing, the Chief Justice asked Imran Khan’s lawyer, Naeem Haider, about the petitioner’s whereabouts. The lawyer responded that his client could not attend the hearing.

The Chief Justice then asked if the lawyer had submitted an application seeking Imran’s court exemption and where the application was. The lawyer confirmed that the application had been filed. However, the judge warned that if the PTI chairman did not appear before the court by the end of the day, his interim bail would be cancelled.

Imran’s lawyer Khawaja Haris did not appear before the IHC in cases related to seeking details of FIRs registered against Imran Khan and summoning notices against him. Another PTI lawyer, Naeem Haider, appeared before the court and requested that the hearing of this case be fixed with other cases. However, the Chief Justice expressed frustration and questioned why Haris could not reach the court despite the hearing being scheduled for 9 am.
