ISLAMABAD: The Foreign Office has announced the end of evacuation operations out of Sudan, leading the inter-agency operation for the evacuation of stranded citizens from the conflict zone.

This announcement came just hours after 93 more Pakistanis were evacuated from Sudan, bringing the total number of Pakistanis evacuated to 10,000.

The Foreign Office took to Twitter on Tuesday to announce the end of the evacuation operation, thanking Allah and the tireless efforts of their embassy in Khartoum led by Amb Regi, supported by Saudi Arabia and China, and their teams in Jeddah and Islamabad.

However, the Foreign Office also said that evacuations through Jeddah will continue until the last Pakistani returns safely.

Around 1,200 Pakistanis, including the ones evacuated, lived in Sudan, according to the Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development Sajjid Hussain Turi, who spoke to reporters.
