
Punjab Minister of Industries, Commerce and Housing, Mian Aslam Iqbal, chaired a briefing meeting in the Housing Department, in which the performance of Aab-e-Pak Authority, amendments in the Act and the affairs of the authority were reviewed.
CEO Aab-e-Pak Authority Syed Muhammad Zahid gave a briefing about the progress on clean drinking water supply projects.
During the meeting, it was decided to make the Marakaz-e-Aab that have been stalled for a long time quickly functional and a thousand Marakaz-e-Aab have been planned to be activated in 60 days.
Speaking on occasion, the Minister said that clean water is the right of every citizen and the government will give this right to him.
He said brackish water will be made usable and provided to the citizens, a program will be started in Faisalabad, Multan, Rawalpindi, Kasur and DG Khan to make treatable water usable. In three phases, this program will be extended to the whole of Punjab.
He also directed officials to submit a roadmap in this regard.
