A training session was conducted in Lahore as part of the Insight Project for journalists. The session, led by senior investigative journalist Waseem Abbasi, senior journalist Yasir Shaban Abbasi, and senior journalist Ahmad Waleed, focused on imparting skills related to information verification and responsible reporting.
The objective was to enable journalists to authenticate news disseminated through social media, news channels, and websites. The training included instruction on the use of various tools for this purpose.
This six-month project is being supported by the US government, the Institute of International Education, and the United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan.
As a component of this initiative, a dedicated fact-checking website called Fact Pulse is being developed to further enhance the accuracy and credibility of news reporting.
