PARACHINAR: At least eight people including seven teachers were killed in a firing incident that took place in Kurram district.
According to reports gathered by MM News, an emergency has been declared imposed in hospitals across the district after the tragedy.
Police and local sources said unknown assailants opened fire on a moving vehicle on Shlozan Road in Upper Kurram, killing Muhammad Sharif on the spot. The police have identified Jawad Hussain, Naveed Hussain, Jawad Ali, Muhammad Ali and Ali Hussain as the prime suspects in the case.
Apparently in retaliatory action, teachers belonging to Tori Bangash tribes were performing examination duties in Teri Mangal High School armed assailants sprayed bullets killing seven of them on the spot.
Following these incidents, transportation routes across the district were closed due to security concerns. Meanwhile, the matriculation exams organized by Kohat Education Board, scheduled to begin from April 28, have been postponed indefinitely.
