Islamabad: Accountability Court sent back 4 references to NAB during the hearing of fake account cases against former President Asif Zardari and other accused.
In the Accountability Court, a hearing was held on the fake account cases against PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari and other accused. Judge Muhammad Bashir pronounced the verdict after hearing the arguments of the parties.
Asif Zardari’s lawyer Farooq Naik and NAB prosecutors appeared in the court. Farooq H Naik argued that after the amendment of the NAB law, these references are not within the jurisdiction of the court, the accountability court cannot conduct a trial on the references.
The court sent back the money laundering reference against former President Asif Zardari, Faryal Talpur, Hussain Lawai and others to NAB.
The plot allotment reference against Manzoor Qadir and other accused was also sent back to NAB while the Sindh Bank reference against Bilal Sheikh and other accused was also sent back. The accountability court also sent back the pink redundancy reference to NAB.
