
Punjab Governor Muhammad Baligh ur Rehman says textile sector plays important role for in exports and country’s economy.
He stated this during a meeting with delegation of Cotton Ginning Association led by its Chairman Sohail Harl at Governor House in Lahore today.
On this occasion, the delegation apprised the Governor about issue being faced by cotton ginniners. They apprised that previous government imposed seventeen percent tax on seed on cotton, raw cotton and oil due to which farmers and exports of textile sector are affected badly.
Speaking on this occasion, the Governor said that he for restoration of cotton crop, issues of farmers will be conveyed to relevant fourms and request to decrease taxes on cotton ginnners will be conveyed personally to Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif.
He said for a good crop, we have to work on production of quality cotton seed.
He said employment of many people are linked with this crop and economy of the country will be strengthen with the increase of textile sector.
The delegation said that said cotton ginning factories will be run after good production of cotton and thus will effect positively on country’s economy.
