The Board of Revenue proposed to keep the leasing period of state land for corporate farming for 20 years.

Chairman Committee Muhammad Basharat Raja regretted that on one hand we are importing wheat while on the other hand thousands of acres of state land lying barren. “Utilizing this land will encourage corporate farming for food security”, said Mr. Raja.

On this occasion, Finance Minister Mohsin Khan Laghari said that the government initiative will prevent the illegal use of government land and will be helpful in increasing the revenue. Cabinet Committee on Privatization also approved the auctioning of the 6572 kanal state-owned land to cement factory in DG Khan. The meeting was told that district and divisional Price Assessment Committees fixed the rate as per the market rate, the highest bid being placed by the cement factory.
