Punjab Minister for Housing and Urban Development Mian Aslam Iqbal presided over a meeting in the Housing Department in Lahore today during which the Monsoon Tree Plantation Plan 2022 was reviewed.
On this occasion, Director General PHA Dr. Umar Jahangir gave a detailed briefing about the monsoon tree plantation plan.
The meeting decided to hold a tree plantation competition among all the PHAs of the province. The meeting also decided that Parks and Horticulture Authority showing best performance in tree plantation drive will be given cash prize.
Addressing the meeting, the Minister said that during the tree plantation campaign, saplings should be planted in the boundaries of grounds, green belts, all housing schemes of LDA and private residential societies.He said that without the participation of the people, goals of tree plantation campaign cannot be achieved. Therefore, the participation of the people should be ensured to make the plantation campaign successful.
