Secretary Industries and Commerce Dr. Ahmad Javed Qazi presided over a meeting in Lahore today and reviewed the performance of the Women Resource Center established in Lahore with the mutual cooperation of Punjab Small Industries Corporation and Women Chamber of Commerce.
Addressing the meeting, Secretary Industries and Commerce Dr. Ahmed Javed Qazi said that development goals cannot be achieved without involving more than half of the country’s population, women, in the development process.
He said that empowerment of women is the priority of the government.
He said that all necessary steps should be taken to provide business opportunities to women.
Dr. Ahmad Javed Qazi said that women should be given facilities to set up stalls in model bazaars. He said that more economic opportunities should be provided for women in handicraft shops as well. During the meeting,Project Director Sohaib Zafar gave a briefing regarding the performance of Women Resource Center.
