Dengue situation in Punjab is being monitored continuously: Salman

Provincial Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique gave a final warning to the officers to stop fake reporting of dengue prevention activities.

He issued this instruction while presiding over the meeting of Provincial Dengue Monitoring Committee at Civil Secretariat in Lahore today.

Khawaja Salman Rafique and Chief Secretary Punjab Kamran Ali Afzal reviewed the anti-dengue activities during the meeting.

During the meeting, all concerned secretaries submitted detailed reports to the provincial minister and chief secretary regarding anti-dengue activities. Health Secretary Ali Jan Khan, Additional IG Special Branch and Chairman PITB presented performance reports of all the districts regarding dengue prevention activities.

Provincial Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique said on this occasion that the dengue situation in Punjab is being monitored continuously. He said that all departments have to play their role in controlling dengue.

He said that complaints of false reporting of dengue prevention activities are intolerable.

Chief Secretary Punjab Kamran Ali Afzal directed the departments to improve their performance regarding dengue. He said that It is matter of concern that more dengue cases have been reported this year than last year. He said that departments should ensure implementation of SOPs related to dengue, and negligence would not be acceptable in this regard.
